You would think it's native of Brazil because wherever you go in the country, there's the tree. It's a delicious fruit, if mature. The one that Cleuson is hold is not fully ripe. It will "rest" in a dark place for 3-4 days before it's ready to eat.

And here's the owner of the bicycle with a jack fruit (Artocarpus intergrifolia) he harvested from a tree on the main Bosque trail. Called jaca here, it's an exotic originally from Asia.
