Tapajós, continued

I thought this was a good looking gourd. It was hanging from a rafter inside Dona Eunice's garage and appeared to have never been used as a utensil.

Many years ago these were extensively used by our African people. Nowdays, with things easily available in shops there is no need for them anymore. Our bushmen used to gather water in these and make a stoper with grass for it and put them under the ground in various parts of the desert so they would always have water available.
