Old leaf

I wonder what happened to these leaves? They're so covered with fungi, they're more fungus than a leaves. Notice that there are other leaves around them, all fresh, slick and green.

Covered with leaf LICHENS and what look to be leafy liverworts.

Forgot to add that the number of "epiphylls" (as these are called) is related to the age of the leaf, which accumulates them over time.
