Morning at Mararu, part 9
This sapucaia pod (Lecythis pisonis) dispersed its delicious nuts and then got to be an old timer on the ground. For the lack of better company, it's taken on friends. They provide some color to the otherwise drab environment. Termites are already making a meal of the pod, from the underside. Nothing dumb about termites. They always look for the protective side of things.
