Nossa Senhora de Conceição, patron saint for Santarém. The base of the altar is made from a piece of Brazil nut pod (Bertholetia excelsa). Coming next, a picture of cupuaçu in its natural state of being.

While visiting Santarem, I remember visiting one of the artisan/craft shops-- The crafts were incredible. I wish I had purchased more to bring home, but at the time, I didn't think I could fit anymore in my luggage!
