Unexpected storm at the Bosque

Given that this storm targeted only the Reception Center at Bosque Santa Lúcia, it must have dropped out of the sky in the form of a tornado.  Several large trees were felled with damage to the round-house, the Casa de Caboclo and the bridge.  The tree we see on the ground is a taperebá (Spondia lute)

The new shoots on this small tree certainly get some attention, given they are so different than others around it. I haven't the slightest idea as to the species. That's biodiversity. Never an end to learning.

Pau Brasil, continued

Mature and dried seeds from the Pau Brasil pods. As I remember it, there are around 4 seeds to a pod. Nope, no thorns on the seeds!

Invisible spider

These spiders are real artists at becoming invisible.
