I thought that I would pull the leg of my readers by identifying these figures as remains of prehistoric Long Horned Beetles but decided against it for fear that someone would believe it. In reality, what I discovered were broken floor tiles in the small gym in the apartment building where I live. There's no doubt about it, someone working out in the gym let a dumb-bell or some other metallic equipment fall on the floor. Nevertheless, the crash produced some interesting designs on the ceramic tile.
