
There are so many caladiums around the Bosque, I’m sure that visitors think that they were planted.
I suppose the rhizome of the plant could be dug up and planted where one wishes but all the caladiums you see there are in their natural state.
They are classified in the
Araceae family of plants.
The genus is
Caladium and there are many different species.
They all pop up like weeds during the rainy season and die back to the ground during our long dry months. We have several different kinds at the Bosque. I'll be posting images of them as I find time.
