Stolen transformers produce energy elsewhere

The new power-line pole on the left is a replacement for the one broken in half during a storm last week.  The second pole is an older one, which has housed several transformers in recent times, all which have been stolen by criminals wanting to make quick profits.  The last one was installed by Celpa less than a week ago.  I have some doubts about their installing other one, given the financial loss from these occurrences.  Sad for the Bosque because we depend on electricity for lights and water.

Bridge under water

The 42 meter bridge was under water last week and it'll be there a few times before the rainy season is over.  Bosque Santa Lúcia.  25.02.2017.

Brazilian Fruits - new Publication

It was a pleasure to receive Marco Lacerda at Bosque Santa Lúcia this past Sunday morning.  Marco is co-author of a new publication on fruits of Brazil, FRUTAS NO BRASIL - NATIVAS E
EXÓTICAS.  He is also co-auther of BRAZILIAN FRUITS & CULTIVATED EXOTICS, the book to the left.  I'll be providing more information about publications in an upcoming post.
