Steven, I am a Brazilian living in California. I have been trying to find the English name for "sucupira seeds", which have anti-inflammatory properties. Is there any chance that you could help me out with the name, or a picture of it? Thanks much... Marielle
Sorry, no English names for this tree. Only common and scientific names. Try Sucupira (Bowdichia guianensis); Sucupira Preta (Bowdichia virgilioides). I have a lot of this wood in the collection. I'll try to remember to get a pix for you.
Thanks, Steven! I have seen pictures of the tree on the 'net, but have no idea what the seeds look like. I may be able to find them in a herbal store if I know what to look for. The botanical name you gave will be very helpful. I love your site and have been looking forward to your posts. Thanks again!
Some time back I had a package of the seeds. I think they were sold as a medicine. I'll check around to see if I can find them again. It's amazing what we can't find on the net at times. If you find a pix, I'd like the link. Cheers.
