Harlequin beetle

This is the second harlequin beetle (Acrocinus longimanus) I've seen at the Bosque in all the years I've been there. Cleuson actually discovered it in the brush he was cutting back around the reception center today and brought it to me in an old blue plastic pail once used as a plant vase. I'm not sure Cleuson has ever seen this beetle before and he's lived all of his life in this area. He described the beetle as being "mad as hell, very upset". I guess we would all be in that state if we were placed in a bucket.
