Here's a link to his book: <A HREF="http://www.narrativepress.com/profile.php?book_id=1-58976-197-9" REL="nofollow">The Naturalist on the River Amazons</A>. <BR/><BR/>I had no idea there were so many species of army ants. Bates, if I remember correctly, thought those white headed ants might be sort of sacrificial beasts.
