Beetle
I was actually filming the mass of fibers and ended up including the beetle too. My first impression of the fibrous mass was that it was the remains of howler monkey feces, but I guess not. Maybe a grass eating animal.

Seedpod
A seedpod from a paricá tree (Schizolobium parahyba) didn't quite make it to the ground. It seems to have been caught up in the brush for some time.

Tadpoles
I took these pictures using the zoom of a simple point and shoot digital camera. I was surprised to see that I captured the movements of some of the tadpoles in that foamy material the frogs produce to protect eggs and the tadpoles. Bottom image is that of the foam as secured in the notch of two trees. Top image, the tadpoles moving about.
